These /commands (backslash commands) are useful when talking to your mates or for obtaining game information. You simple type the command in your chat window followed by a message or more information when necessary.
/afk <message> - Turns on your away message. Allows you to put in a message that will be seen by anyone sending you a tell or doing /w on you.
/away <message> - Same as /afk.
/back - Clears your away message.
/clear - Clears your screen of all chat messages.
/crew <message> - Sends messages over the crew chat channel, only readable by crew members and jobbers in the crew. Be careful not to say anything you don't want jobbers to hear.
/cw <crew name> - Lists members of a crew that are on line.
/dnd - Turns on Do Not Disturb, prevents anyone from challenging, trading with, jobbing, or heartying you.
/emote or /e <action> - Let's you sing, dance, sigh or anything else you want to do. /e does a jig = Garibaldi does a jig.
/fw - Lists the crews in your flag and the mates that are currently online.
/fw <flag name> - Lists crews in a flag and which mates are online.
/game <message> - Sends messages over the game chat channel, only readable by mates in or watching the game.
/help - Lists all the /commands available.
/info - Gives the current time in San Francisco, California (Pirate time).
/jcrew or /jc <message> - Sends messages over the crew chat channel of the crew you're jobbing with.
/me <message> - Same as emote.
/mute <pirate name> - Prevents you from hearing that mate.
/tell <pirate name> - Sends a private message to that mate
/unmute <pirate name> - Allows you to hear a mate after muting them.
/vwho or /vw <ship name> - Gives you information about a ship, who is on the ship and where the ship is.
/who or /w <pirate name> - Gives you information about a mate, where they are, and what crew they belong to.
/who or /w - Shows how many pirates are logged on and the name of the on-duty Ocean Master. Also lists everyone on the island you’re on and their location or everyone on the ship you’re on.
There are several other /commands available to officers. As you’re promoted you’ll learn these commands too.
