Last Sunday The Ditz and I met Yesi in Newport Beach for a day on the water. We boarded the Lady Washington in the morning for a morning sail. In the afternoon we were on the Hawaiian Chieftain for a battle with The Lady.
Yesi took a lot of pictures, but most of them don't translate well on the forum. The videos do, though.
This first one is from the Lady Washington off the coast.

On the way back to the dock, we passed through what looked to be the start of a sail boat race.

This is after the battle. The mates in the rigging are furling the sails. The ships gave each other 3 cheers for a battle well fought. gg

There are a lot of still pictures, too. I'm having trouble getting them to be a size where you can actually see what they are. I'll work on them later.
By the way... This was last Sunday. the middle of January. Yacht clubs traditionally have a "closing day" when they acknowledge the close of the yachting season. Then in the spring. the tradition is to have an 'opening day" when they celebrate the beginning of the season. In Southern California we close the season one evening in May and open it the next morning.
